Tour: Watch

You really have to see Mogulus™ to believe it. In the meantime, here's a tour of what's inside. This should whet your appetite until you get your beta username.

  • After you've logged in, you can watch, browse or search for Mogulus channels.

  • Find a channel you like, and embed the Mogulus player on any website (your blog, myspace, etc).

Tour: Produce

If you've already launched your channel, take a look at how you can mix video clips, webcams, and graphics with your global network of producers. If you want to see how easy it is to launch a brand new channel, scroll down to the Launch a New Channel section.

How to Mix Video Clips

  1. This is where you load the storyboard you want to use on the show you're about to mix live.
  2. To put a clip live on the air, press cue. It will load up as a cued clip, ready to be broadcast live to your audience.
  3. This pie chart lets you know how many people are ready to view your channel live. Wait for everyone to be in sync, or go live whenever you're ready.
  4. Press Transition to Cued Clip, and your clip will be broadcast live, with a smooth transition.
  5. This is the Live Now window, where you can keep an eye on what you're broadcasting.

Want to Mix Your Production Team Webcams?

  1. Click the Camera tab in the Broadcast Live mixer.
  2. Cue the camera of any one of your producers, regardless of where they are in the world. Press the Transition to Cued Clip button to go live with that camera.

Want To Add Graphics?

With Mogulus, you can add live graphics such as ticker, full screen sting, coming soon, straps, and over the shoulder bug - just like you'd see on a major network broadcast. Remember, you selected a template when you launched your channel. Now, all you need to do is choose the graphic type, insert the text into the Broadcast Live mixer, and press the button to bring in your desired graphic. It's that simple.

Here's a quick example: Type the first line for a strap in the Broadcast Live mixer. Press the IN button.

Everybody viewing your channel will see the strap appear in real-time, and in the personalized graphic style you chose when you launched your channel.

How Do I Prepare A Storyboard?

A storyboard is an ordered list of imported video clips, which are ready for either live mixing or to be used in a playlist on autopilot. You or one of your producers would usually prepare a storyboard before your show airs, but it can be done during a live show as well.

  • A user searching for clips

Search for content from within the Mogulus studio, and gather from external sources such as YouTube.

  • A user dragging a clip into the storyboard

Choose the videos you'd like to broadcast, and drag the clips into a storyboard.

  • The studio loading the videos

Take a well-deserved break while the videos are imported into the Mogulus system (you'll be able to watch the progress - it will only take a few minutes).

  • Put your storyboard on autopilot, or mix it live with your webcam using the "Broadcast Live" tab.

If you leave your channel without turning on the autopilot, don't worry about a thing. We'll put it on for you automatically to ensure that your channel is always on the air.

Anybody logged into your studio at the same time as you will be available for you to broadcast live, providing they have a webcam handy. Below, you can see three users connected simultaneously, communicating in the camera tab of the live mixer.

How Does the Collaboration System Work?

If there is more than one producer from your team logged into your channel, you'll enable the following collaborative features:

  • All searches and storyboards are shared. This means that you can see what the other producers are searching for, or drag clips from different searches into the same storyboard. One producer can be mixing a storyboard, while another producer can add clips to it from the other side of the world. All of the changes are reflected in real time, making collaboration an easy and stress-free process.
  • You control what is cued and what goes on live as a team. There is no master control. If someone presses CUE on a clip, everybody will get an update on that clip. The same applies for live camera cues and broadcast graphics.
  • Any producer who has a webcam can be cued to broadcast live on your channel.

This is where Mogulus really shines. You're able to create a global and virtual production studio, and it's unlike anything you've ever seen.

Tour: How To Launch A New Channel

Before you produce any content, you'll need to launch your channel. Here's a step by step guide on how to get started with Mogulus.

Click Produce tab in the logged in area and click on the "Go To The Mogulus Studio" button.

Select "Create New Channel", and enter your Mogulus username and password. You'll be asked to choose a name for your new channel. Make it a good one!

Launch your channel in five easy steps:

  • 1. Briefly describe your new channel.

  • 2. Customize your broadcast graphics. This includes uploading your unique logo, choosing a color, and selecting your background animation. It's as simple as setting up the template of your blog.

  • 3. Invite other Mogulus users to join your broadcast, and assemble a dream team of producers.

  • 4. Press the "Launch Channel" button, and you're ready to go live.

  • 5. Your channel will be launched with the classic color bars, and you can find it at your unique URL (www.mogulus.com/[channel name]).

Now, all you need to do is prepare a storyboard. Or, if you feel you're ready for it, go ahead and mix live.
