Broadcast live from your Web cam
Anybody currently logged into your studio is available to be broadcast live from their webcam.
Note: If you can't see or hear yourself or others, check that the devices are plugged in and the device settings are set correctly. For details on how to adjust input settings, see [[1]]
1. From the Broadcast Live tab, click on the Cameras tab on the left panel of the Mogulus window.
All connected video cameras appear on the list. You should see your live image on your video camera.
If you are using Flash Media Encoder to encode it will show up in this menu as "External Feed"
2. To put yourself live on air, click the
button for your web cam. Your web cam is loaded and cued to play next.
Note: The cameras list will also include any live web cams used by your producers and associates. You can also cue them to go live.
3. A pie chart lets you know how many people are currently viewing your channel live (including yourself).
Before transitioning to a cued clip in a live broadcast at least 50% of viewers must be synchronized. When this level of synchronization is reached, you will be able to click Transition to cued clip to make the clip live in the channel. You can see what's being broadcast from the Live now display.
4. To end the live broadcast, click on restart autopilot from the Control Auto-pilot tab.
Notes on live broadcasting
- Mogulus Free Channels have a maximum bit rate limit of 500kbps. If your Flash Media Encoder bit rate is above 500kbps, your stream will not be present within your Mogulus Channel. Please ensure the total bit rate is below 500kbps. Mogulus Pro Channels are exempt from this limitation.
- Lighting is very important. Make sure you are well lit from the front (that is, the light should shine at you from behind the camera).
- You can record your live broadcasts to play back later using autopilot. See Record your live shows.
- If you're collaborating with other producers, they can cue up the next clip while the person on air focuses on presenting. See Set up your team.
